Patterns in Leaves

Students used leaf tracers to create a leaf design. Once they were drawn students were asked to fill each space with a different pattern. There was a pattern worksheet before this lesson to help ensure they didn't end up with scribbles. We also picked out patterns around the room, it ended up being really fun seeing all the places that have pattern in our everyday lives. 

The next step was to trace around each leaf three times and to color the background using one color to help the leaves be the stars.
