Winter Silhouettes

This project was challenging for students but the end result was beautiful. Students learned about silhouettes and applied their knowledge to a winter silhouette piece. The winter objects/figures where drawn onto white paper. Each was carefully cut keeping the paper as intact as possible. Then the white paper was glued to the bottom of a larger piece of blue paper and the cut outs to the top. Each student also had to create a horizon line so it didn't look like their objects were floating in space. Colored pencils and cut paper were added to the objects/figures and some white snow as a last touch.

Art vocab: horizon line, silhouette, chalk pastel, blending
