Students were asked to look at different cacti and pick out characteristics. After talking about cacti; where they grow, how they live, etc., students were asked to draw their own large cactus. After, students explored line and the many ways it can be drawn.
I like to discuss line for a bit before letting them more onto the final so they have lots of ideas about how a line can look and move. For this project I had student come to the board and demonstrate different lines. I also had them pick out lines around the room.
