I like to start the year with a project that is more review so we began by discussing primary and secondary colors. Students watched and followed along with an owl drawing demo of a simple and them a more complicated owl. They were also encouraged to make their own version. Six owl in total where then traced in the primary and secondary colors with crayon and painted with the corresponding color using watercolors. This created a watercolor resist. Students then placed their owls in a spooky scene.
